New business

1) Lynda Boulter questioned Don Coleman about the $9067.31 loss in the Trust Fund due to our present economic downturn. There was a discussion about putting it into something more secure.

2) A number of people had asked Lynda Boulter about our church groups using the Fellowship Hall, and whether they should be paying rent (quilting, scrapbooking, Red Hat Society were mentioned). After some discussion, it was decided we should discuss the matter with Session, but most were in favour of a small donation from each person to help pay for heat and hydro. Groups not connected with the church, such as the Red Hat Society will pay rent.

3) There was a discussion about using Lenten Cards this year. Ann McDougall suggested something similar to the Advent Calendar used at Christmas, to make it more interesting and meaningful. At the joint meeting with Session, Darlene Nichol, Linda Brown and John and Ann McDougall volunteered to work on it.

4) Lynda Boulter will have an Information Package “Bits and Bites” for the incoming chair of Stewards.

5) Following the service on Feb. 7th, Carleton Brown will talk about growing up as a young black person in Toronto. Linda Brown said she will have muffins and juice and  there were other offers of food as well for this celebration of Black History month.

6) Linda Brown also mentioned the Easter Choir concert. She is helping with advertising and asked for help with breakfast which will be served after the concert and before the church service.
