Trinity United Church Committee of Stewards Meeting  March 2, 2010

 

Attendees:

Andy Adamson, Don Coleman, Diane Buchanan, Glenda Turner and Rachael Henry

Regrets:

Jane Adamson, Linda Brown, Jennifer Bennett and Connie Shibley

A quorum was present.

1.       Call To Order:  Andy Adamson called the meeting to order in the name of Jesus Christ, the one and only Head of the Church at 7:10 pm.

2.       Andy Adamson lead the meeting in the opening prayer.

3.       Approval of Agenda:  Moved by Diane Buchanan that the agenda be approved.

4.       Minutes:  Moved by Glenda Turner and seconded by Diane Buchanan that the February 2, 2010 minutes be accepted as written.

5.       Business Arising:

A)    The “Down Home Dinner” held on February 20, 2010 raised $2382.50.  The funds will be  donated to the United Church Haitian Relief Fund.

B)     The Winter Warm Up Breakfasts have concluded for 2010.  Don Coleman to calculate the total funds raised and share at our next meeting.

C)      Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities 2011:  Diane Buchanan had received information through Queens and will share with the group to review.  Andy Adamson will speak with Rev.Linda Price regarding requirements.

6.       Treasurer’s Report:  Moved by Don Coleman and seconded by Diane Buchanan that the treasurer’s report be accepted as presented.

7.       Counters for March:            March 7 - Glenda Turner   March 14 - Andy Adamson March 21 - Diane Buchanan    March 28 - Rachael Henry       April 4  - Connie Shibley

9.       Andy Adamson had received an email from Linda Brown requesting that thank you notes be written to recognize donations made to the Down Home Dinner event.  Diane Buchanan suggested that a thank you note also be written for Trusdale’s Foodland, for donations made to the event.  Rachael Henry will prepare thank you notes.

10.   Andy Adamson had also received an email from John MacDougall.  He requested thank you notes be written for Ken Harper and Doug Casement for work completed on the church floor. 

11.   John MacDougall also requested that fees be waived for the use of the fellowship room for two meetings in February by the District Health Service Committee of the Verona Community Association. Motion to waive fees moved by Glenda Turner and seconded by Diane Buchanan.

12.   An email was received from Harold Dalmas requesting a vegetarian option for Scout Banquet.  Jennifer Bennett has advised that the vegetarian option will be quiche and will follow up with Harold.

13.   Maintenance and Renovations:   Don Coleman provided a report regarding work required in the lower bathroom.  In addition it was noted that the water softener was noted to be leaking.  Don to notify Culligan regarding concerns.  Glenda Turner noted that Carl Turner will be addressing heating concerns in the basement teaching room.

14.   New Business:  None identified.

15.   Next Meeting:  April 6, 2010 in the fellowship room.

16.   Members joined together in closing prayer.
