TRINITY UNITED CHURCH COMMITTEE OF STEWARDS MEETING

SEPTEMBER 1, 2009

Attendees

Don Coleman, Andy Adamson, Rachael Henry, Glenda Turner, Ann McDougall, Linda Brown, Diane Buchanan, Dorina Friedl and Jennifer Bennett.

Regrets- Jane Adamson A quorum was present.

1. Call to Order

Ann McDougall called the meeting to order in the name of Jesus Christ, the one and only Head of the Church at 7:01 p.m.

2. Ann McDougall lead the meeting with the opening prayer.

3. Approval of Agenda - Moved by Diane Buchanan and seconded by Linda Brown that the agenda be approved. Carried

4. Minutes - Moved by Glenda Turner and seconded by Rachael Henry that the June 2, 2009 minutes be accepted. Carried.

5. Business arising from the minutes

a) Plant Sale - June 6, 2009 - good event, perhaps have it in May 2010.

b) Anniversary Lunch - June 14, 2009 - lots of food was shared

c) Festival Fish Fry - Aug. 8, 2009 - Glenda Turner will write a note of thanks to Bonnie Brown for her leadership in this event. It was suggested that we use real plates for future events. $1,283.10 was the total amount raised.

d) Bulletin board for Fellowship Hall - Linda Brown will purchase this and have it installed.

e) Ruth and Don Brown's 50th Anniversary Celebration - Sept. 12, 2009 - The fee was waived for these members and they will make a donation.

f) Fall events:

-Lion's Pancake Breakfast - Sept. 26, 2009 7:45 - 2 pm Sheets were sent around to sign up for three shifts.

-Apple Pie Bee - Tuesday, October 6, 2009 9AM - noon Event Chair - Linda Brown Marilyn Duffe is taking advance orders - $8.00 a pie. Dorina Friedl and Jennifer Bennett will shop for the groceries. Posters were passed out to be posted.

-Pig Roast - October 24, 2009 - 5:30 Andy Adamson and John McDougall will chair this event.

6. Treasurer's Report - Don Coleman circulated the report. Moved by Don Coleman and seconded by Linda Brown that the Treasurer's Report be accepted as presented. Carried.

7. Counters for September and October 4

Sept. 6 - Jennifer Bennett

Sept. 13 - Glenda Turner

Sept. 20 - Linda Brown

Sept. 27 - Ann McDougall

Oct. 4 - Rachael Henry

Don Coleman will be away from October 5 - October 19th Glenda Turner and Ann McDougall will help out with the banking.

8. Correspondence

a) Jerry Babcock asked for the Hall fee to waived for the Women's Institute. There are a not-for- profit organization.

b) Enid Bailey asked for the Hall fee to be waived for the Heritage Association's Strawberry Social as they are also a not-for-profit group.

9. Maintenance and Renovations - There are some small things needing repair at the church but a new roof is required in the near future. The present roof is original.

10. New Business

a) 125th Anniversary - June 2011

-Sell Trinity mugs as a fundraiser and more for the kitchen

-Name Quilt to be made as a fundraiser.

b) Special Offering Envelope - These will be used at Christmas

c) Carrot Pudding - It was agreed that this fundraiser will not happen this year.

11. Next meeting - Official Board - September 28, 2009 @ 7:00 p.m.

The stewards joined together in the closing prayer.
