TRINITY UNITED CHURCH COMMITTEE OF STEWARDS MEETING MAY 5, 2009

Absent - Jennifer Bennett  A quorum was present.

1.  Call to Order
     Ann McDougall called the meeting to order in the name of Jesus Christ, the one and only Head of the Church at 7:00 p.m. 


2. Ann McDougall read the  opening prayer.

3.  Approval of Agenda - The agenda was approved with one addition for New Business.

4.  Minutes - Moved by Glenda Turner and seconded by Linda Brown that the minutes  accepted as distributed.  Carried.

5.  Business arising from the minutes
   a) Easter Choir Concert and Breakfast - Thanks was extended to Linda Brown and Marni Pederson from St. Paul's for arranging the delicious breakfast which was enjoyed by so many.
   b) Rental Booklet - This was tabled until the June meeting.

   c) Melodia Monday Concert - A thank you will be sent to Carol Ramer for bringing this group to Trinity and helping us raise $400.  Glenda Turner will write this thank you.
   d) Pie Sale - Diane Buchanan has purchased the pie boxes for the sale to be held May 9, 2009.  Help will be provided to sell the 55 pies which are being donated.

   e) Plant Sale - Jennifer Bennett will chair this event to be held June 6th at the Farmer's Market.

   f) Snow Removal - Don Coleman will prepare a Trinity card and Linda Brown will write a thank you and make some muffins to thank Vaughan's Automotive for the donation of snow plowing for the past five years. 


6.  Treasurer's Report - Don Coleman circulated the report. Moved by Don Coleman and seconded by Andy Adamson  that the treasurer's report be accepted.  Carried.  Two items of note were for plowing the parking lot by Vaughan's Garage and bill for  $325.00  for Darrel Snider who plowed the steps, ramp and sidewalks for Joyce Casement  This will be in the June financial report.

  1. Correspondence - Ann McDougall reported that Eldon Hamilton will rent the hall from the Free Methodist church for the July event and our church will not be required.

    The rental fees for our hall  will be waived for the Frontenac Women's Chorus.

    A thank you was received from Linda Bates for our support of the International Scout and Guide Fellowship.

 

 

  1. Maintenance and Renovations - Jennifer Bennett sent a  report of some concerns about maintenance.  Ann McDougall will contact the Play Group regarding issues in the basement while they are using the facility.
  2.   New Business     

       a) Wattam funeral (committal) May 30, 2009 at 3:00 - funeral committee

       b) Anniversary Lunch June 14th - Linda Brown will chair   
       c) Festival Fish Fry - Aug. 8 - Bonnie Brown and Connie Shibley will organize. Don Coleman will confirm the booking with Jeff and Carol Lloyd.
 

   d) Ruth and Don Brown's Anniversary, Sept. 12 - Just a rental

   e) Lion's Pancake Breakfast, Sept.26 - we will decide later whether to help with this

   f) Apple Pie Bee (fall) - Event chair Linda Brown and Ann McDougall as back up.

   g) Carrot Pudding - Event chair - Sharon Sole and Jane Adamson

   h) Pig Roast. Sat. Oct. 24 - Our committee agreed to this event.

   i) Parking Lot Sign - Moved by Diane Buchanan and seconded by Jane Adamson that the sign be hung for "sharing our parking lot".  Carried.
11. Next meeting: Tuesday, June 2, 2009 @ 7 pm in the Fellowship Hall

12. Closing Prayer
The stewards joined together in the closing prayer.

13.  Adjournment at 8:40 p.m.
