CHURCH SESSION MEETING
Tuesday, February 5th,
2008
WELCOME:
Lynda
Price, constituted the meeting in the name of Jesus Christ the only Head of the
Church, at 7:08 p.m. and welcomed John McDougall as a new session member.
MEMBERS PRESENT:
Millie
Cuthill, Hannes Friedli, Barb Joyce, John McDougall, Darlene Nicol, Lynda
Price, Gord Ramer, and Elfleda Watson. (a quorum)
OPENING REFLECTIONS:
Elfleda
Watson read from a Lenten Upper Room Daily Devotion, “God’s Gracious
Boundaries,” followed by a prayer.
Note – Hannes Friedli
volunteered for March, Opening Reflection.
MINUTES OF JANUARY 7TH,
2008:
Barb
Joyce/Millie Cuthill approved the minutes as printed and circulated.

ELECTION OF CHAIRPERSON AND
SECRETARY:
Lynda
Price ask, who would like to fill these positions. Millie Cuthill
graciously
volunteered for chairperson, and Barb Joyce, said she would
stay
on as secretary, all agreed. Carried
AGENDA:
With
one addition under New Business, John McDougall/Hannes Friedli, moved the
Adoption of the Agenda. Carried
BUSINESS ARISING:
a) Windows
in Sanctuary – at Trinity’s Annual Congregation Meeting on
Sunday, February 3rd, 2008, it
was a unanimous vote for Option #1,
the refurbishing of the windows. At this
time a discussion took
place, it is now session’s responsibility
that this project is
fulfilled, as donations/funds come forth. We
all agreed, that a
letter of “Thanks” be sent to Lucy Spain,
for all of her time and
dedication researching the
refurbishing/replacement, etc, for the
windows. (letter att’d)
(Note
- Liz Hughson and Marni Pedersen of St. Paul’s is researching
window prices, and have had contact with a
local business. John
McDougall volunteered to speak with them,
to get more information)
b) Membership
Update – we went over our list and the following names
have not attended church in quite a few
years:
(names have been deleted from web page)
John McDougall/Gord Ramer moved that these
names be removed from
the Historical List. Carried
c) Stair-trac
– Gord Ramer will setup a training session in March.
d) Lay
Reader List – Gord Ramer will also make this list.
WORSHIP AND SACRAMENT:
a) Minister’s
Report – since last meeting Lynda Price, made 9 visits;
7 meetings; 2 wakes; 2 funerals; 2 baptism
meetings; weekly meetings
with Erin; attended 2 annual meetings; 1
Friday Family Night.
She is working on - Feb. 17th,
Baden Powell Service,
- Feb. 24th,
Grandmothers Service
- Lent and Easter Services
Erin Burns will be conducting the 11 a.m.
Good Friday Service at
St. Paul’s.
March 30th, Combined Service at
Trinity (Clergy Day Away)
CHRISTIAN EDUACATION:
Millie
Cuthill will check into the need for an extra nursery school
teacher,
and report back to us.
OUTREACH:
The
Outreach Supper and Movie Night in January, was a success. The next
one
is Friday, February 15th, 2008.
NEW BUSINESS:
a)
Greeter List – we filled in most, will finish the rest next month.
b) Fellowship
– filled in except for August (Desert Lake Campground)
c)
Worship Committee Members – Hannes Friedli and Elfleda Watson,
agreed to
be the members from Trinity, along with two from St. Paul’s.
d) Nomination Committee Member – Darlene Nicol
agreed to be the member
from
Session, along with Linda Brown from Stewards.
e) Fundraising Committee – John McDougall agreed to
be the rep from
Session.
Note – When we joined up with
Stewards, Lynda Boulter, chairperson,
stated
that Dorina Friedli, is rep from Stewards, and that is all we
need. These
two persons names will be put in the bulletin, so that if
any person
in the congregation has a fundraising idea, to give info to
John or
Dorina, they in turn will relay to Stewards, for the go ahead.
