WELCOME:
Millie
Cuthill, Chairperson, constituted the meeting in the name of Jesus Christ the
only Head of the Church, at 7:00 p.m.
MEMBERS PRESENT:
Vera
Brown, Millie Cuthill, Barb Joyce, John McDougall, Darlene Nicol, Lynda Price, Marg
Smith, Barb Stewart and Elfleda Watson. (a quorum)
OPENING REFLECTIONS:
Vera
Brown read a story about “Summer” and some (comical) misprints in church
bulletins.

ADOPTION OF AGENDA:
With three additions under New Business, Millie
Cuthill/John McDougall moved the adoption of the Agenda as presented. Carried

LAST MEETING MAY 5TH, 2009:
Barb Joyce/Darlene Nicol moved the adoption of these
Minutes as printed and circulated. Carried
BUSINESS
ARISING FROM MINUTES:
a)
Advertising
Policy –
John McDougall presented a draft of an Adver-
tising and Editorial Policy for the Pastoral Charge.
Session
agreed that this draft was in order, and copies be
given to Stewards.
John McDougall/Marg Smith moved that this Policy be
accepted as
presented. Carried
b)
Mission
Statement Update
– Marnie Pedersen and Brenda Crawford are representing St. Paul’s, therefore an
update should come forth in September or October.
c)
Anniversary
Sunday Finalization
– Carleton Brown will pick up Lois Wilson in Kingston, and Lynda Price will
make arrangements to take
her back to Kingston. Elfleda Watson suggested
putting cut flowers on the steps outside the church. (she has painted pails to
put them in)
Inside the church will be decorated with balloons,
etc.
CORRESPONDENCE:
Lynda Price sent a “Thank You” letter to Andy and
Dorothy McCulloch for all the years
they held the church picnic at their cottage. (letter in book)
WORSHIP AND
SACRAMENT:
a)
Minister’s
Report –
since last meeting Lynda Price has done 18 visits; 5 meetings; conducted 1 wedding; conducted 1 funeral; met
with 1 couple re wedding; attending weekly Rural Ministry Course;
brought greetings on behalf of the Pastoral Charge
to the Women’s Institute District meeting; attended Bay of Quinte Conference
Annual Meeting.
b)

Requests – Ava Victoria Asselstine, daughter of William and Julie Asselstine, June 7th,
2009.

Children’s
Time and Gospel Grams
– plan to continue Children’s Time through the month of June and discontinue
for July and August, but the Gospel Grams will be available every Sunday from
now on.
e)
September
18th, Fellowship Potluck Brunch – a celebration, invite the children who
have been baptized in the past 2-3 years. Take photos, have cake, balloons etc.
2007 – 4 children; 2008 – 3 children; 2009 – 3
children (counting the two requests tonight) Note – Lynda Price will get
children’s names, and send invitations to their families.
f)
Ralph
McInnes –
and Carol McInnes have ask for Session’s approval to hold Healing Services, at
Trinity in the Fall. Session approved.
g)
Dead
Sea Scrolls
– this is such a busy time of year, we will bring this subject up in September.
MEMBERSHIP
PASTORAL CARE:
Lynda Price reminded us that Denny and Diane
Buchanan, would be formally welcomed, (one Sunday shortly.)
CHRISTIAN
EDUCATION:
OUTREACH:
Millie Cuthill did speak with one of the ladies from
the Play Group, but was told she would have to speak to Susan Leslie. Hopefully
by September there will be more information.
NEW BUSINESS:
a)
Picnic
for July Fellowship
– Andy and Jane Adamson volunteered to
have the picnic at their house July 18th, 2009.
b)
Reminder – Trinity’s Service time
changes Sept. 6th, to 9:15
a.m.
c)
Window
Application
– John McDougall will speak to St. Paul’s, re application for $5,000.00,
($2,500.00 each church) grant from National Church.
d)
Film
License Renewal
– being Trinity only rented one film/video
in the past year, it was decided not to renew this
license.
e)
Church
Information Brochure
– needs to be updated, Lynda Price said being she has the form in her computer,
she will update it.
